Teacher Card

Click here to get a teacher card application that you may complete and take with you to a Lorain Public Library system location.

The teacher card gives you access to the LPLS collection, with the same loan periods as a standard card. Fees for lost items will apply. The teacher card gives you the freedom to check out items for your classroom without filling up your personal card.

Teachers from public, private, parochial, and charter schools as well as licensed child care centers can apply annually for a Lorain Public Library System Teacher Card. Apply for this card in person at any Lorain Public Library System location by providing name, address, telephone number, and date of birth. You will need a photo ID with your current, permanent address AND one of the following forms of acceptable identification for educators:

  • A current school-issued or program-issued photo ID;
  • A current letter on the school’s or program’s letterhead confirming employment and state-issued photo ID; or, during a class visit, a state-issued photo ID (no letter necessary).
  • Teacher Cards must be renewed annually. Valid photo ID, current proof of address, and updated acceptable identification for educators must be presented when renewing library privileges.
