Friends of the Avon Library

Who are the Friends? 
The Friends of the Avon Library is a nonprofit organization of area residents.

What do Friends do?
The purpose of the Friends group is to maintain an association of persons interested in books and libraries; to focus public attention on library services, facilities and needs of the Avon Branch Library; and to assist in raising funds for needs beyond the library's budget.

Avon Friends provide financial and volunteer help in sponsoring programs and activities within the library. This is accomplished through a wide variety of activities such as three book sales throughout the year, art shows for both youth and adult local artists, and supporting library open houses, parties and other events throughout the year.

Avon Branch Book Sales

Friends volunteer to help with the three book sales (March, June and November) held at the Avon Branch each year as well as with other fund raising events. Preview Hour is held from 5-6pm.

When do Friends meet?
The Friends of the Avon Library meets several times throughout the year. Meetings are held in January, April, June and September. For dates and times of upcoming Friends meetings, visit the Friends of the Avon Library or call the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743 for more information.

Where do Friends meet?
Meetings are held at the Avon Branch Library, located at 37485 Harvest Drive, Avon, Ohio 44011. The group is led by a president, secretary, treasurer and social media chair, who are elected annually by the voting members of the Friends of the Avon Library. Meetings begin at 7:00pm.

Why should I join?

Your contribution of time and money will not only benefit the library but also the city of Avon and yourself. You play an important role as a link between the community and the library. Your interest and use of the library will encourage your neighbors, friends, family and associates to use the library for their own recreational, informational and educational interests.

How do I join? 

By completing an application form and paying yearly dues, you can become a member. Application forms can be obtained at the Avon Branch Library or by downloading one from this site. Dues

Annual dues of members, monetary contributions and monies raised from fundraising activities enable the Friends to provide added funds to the library for services, equipment and programs.
