Friends of the Domonkas Public Library of the Lorain Public Library System

Friends of the Domonkas Public Library of the Lorain Public Library System is an organization made up of area citizens whose purpose is to support and promote interest in the Domonkas Branch.

What is it all about?

The Friends meet to organize book sales, annual membership drives, and other activities to help raise money for library services, programs, and equipment. The Friends have contributed to add the "extras" to the Domonkas Branch Library.

Domonkas Branch Book Sales

Friends volunteer to help with the three book sales (January, May and September) held at the Main Library each year as well as with other fund raising events. Members of the Friends of the Lorain Public Library, Inc. may attend the Friends Preview Book Sale held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Thursday evening before the book sale opens to the general public. The Friends Holiday Books, Bazaar & Bake Sale includes items that are "gift-able".

When and where do Friends meet?

From September through May, the Friends meet at the Domonkas Branch Library usually every other month on the second Tuesday at 7 p.m. During the summer, the Friends meet as needed. The group is led by a President, Secretary and Treasurer who are elected by the voting members of the group.

How do I join?

Just complete a membership application to join the fun. Bring it to the Library anytime, or join us during one of the meetings. Applications are available at the Domonkas Branch Library.
