Robert D. Gary
Lorain native, Robert D. Gary, has practiced law for over 25 years in Lorain. His law firm, Gary, Naegele & Theado, LLC, has recovered additional pension benefits for thousands of pensioners. Gary attended Case Western Reserve University (B.A., 1963); Case Western Reserve University School of Law (J.D., 1966); and New York University School of Law (LL.M., 1967). He is a former Trial Attorney, United States Department of Justice; former Deputy Chief, Organized Crime Strike Force; former Special Assistant to the Governor of Ohio; former Assistant Lorain County Prosecutor; and a Federal and State Court Mediator. He has appeared before the United States District Court, United States Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He was the recipient of the United States Department of Justice Special Achievement Award. He has litigated eight pension class actions involving over 10,000 pensioners with recoveries in excess of $60 million and has been involved in numerous administrative appeals on behalf of pensioners. He is a seminar lecturer and author of articles on class action litigation.
In 2007 he and Jori Bloom Naegele co-authored the book, Protecting Your Pension for Dummies.
