Sheffield's First People

Lorain County is rich in human history that began over 10,000 years ago with Native American occupation along the lakeshore, on the ancient beach ridges, and the river & creek valleys. Dr. Herdendorf will chronicle these settlements and discuss the development of these cultures from the seasonal camps of hunter/gatherers to more permanent  farming communities. He will also present  findings from recent archaeological excavations in our county. This program will be presented by Dr. Charles E. Herdendorf, Professor Emeritus of Geological Sciences, The Ohio State University.
