The eighth movie in the beloved space opera franchise, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, hits theaters this December!   Episode IX will arrive in 2019 and other spinoffs are still on the way.  How exciting! 


With now seven successful films, Star Wars' expanded universe includes books, television series, computer and video games, and comic books.

Borrow the latest installment to the franchise, Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.








Watch what started it all! Enjoy the adventures of Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo as they battle the forces of the evil Imperial army in George Lucas' original trilogy. Then borrow the prequels of Lucas’ popular space opera franchise, in which we discover the origins of Darth Vader. Check out the Star Wars Trilogy IV, V and VI and the Star Wars Trilogy I, II and III DVD packages.  Or check out each of the six films individually.  Watch the spinoff computer-animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The heroic Jedi Knights struggle to maintain order and restore peace as the Clone Wars continue to sweep through the galaxy.  And check out the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series that followed the movie.

Borrow the animated TV show Star Wars Rebels Complete Season One on DVD. It is a dark time in the galaxy as the evil Galactic Empire rules with an iron fist.

Adult book. Read Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace by Terry Brooks, which is based on the screenplay and story by George Lucas. Two Jedi peace ambassadors are sent to investigate the Trade Federation blockade of Naboo and later meet Anakin Skywalker, a young slave living on Tatooine, whom they believe to be a good candidate for Jedi training.


Check out Even Droids Need Friends by Simon Beecroft. (For grades K - 2) This children’s book identifies many of the friends in the Star Wars universe, including Luke Skywalker and his robot friends, C-3PO and R2-D2. Get little Star Wars fans reading with this Pre-level 1 book by DK Publishing.


Get the companion book to the first two seasons of the animated television series Star Wars Rebels.  Borrow Star Wars Rebels Visual Guide: Epic Battles by Adam Bray. (For grades 3 - 6)  It’s another DK Publishing children’s book.


Read the graphic novel Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures Vol. by Haden Blackman, Ryan Kaufman, Justin Lambros and Fillbach Brothers. (For grades 3 - 6)  Anakin and Serra Keto fight for their lives on a space station; Chewbacca defends his world against the Republic; R2-D2 and C-3PO discover a plot to assassinate Padme Amidala; and clone commandos uncover some unlikely survivors.



Get your hands on the children’s book The Strange Case of Origami Yoda by Tom Angleberger. (For grades 3 - 6)  Sixth-grader Tommy and his friends describe their interactions with a paper finger puppet of Yoda, worn by their weird classmate Dwight, as they try to figure out whether or not the puppet can really predict the future. Includes instructions for making Origami Yoda.
