Board of Trustee and member of the Friends of the Columbia Library Ethel Schiemann said "We welcome John Guscott to the Columbia Branch Library. As a Friends member I treasure our library as I am sure he will too, and become a great asset to it."

He currently serves as the Assistant Coordinator & Nominations Chair for the Information Technology Division of the Ohio Library Council, and is a member of the Cleveland Archival Roundtable and Society of Ohio Archivists. He lives in Lakewood with his wife, three children, and two cats.
