Noon Year's Eve

Released On: 12/16/2019

Ring in the new year with us at the Lorain Public Library System!

On Dec. 30 and Dec. 31, five of our branches will have a variety of activities to help celebrate the start of 2020 a little early with Noon Year’s Eve parties.

The parties are for families with children of all ages and will feature music, games, balloons, a countdown and a chance to see the ball drop at noon, 12 hours before the grown-ups.

“Noon Year's Eve is a lot of fun,” Domonkas Branch Manager Anne Godec said. “The kids listen to stories and make a craft. We have a countdown to noon complete with disco ball drop, balloons and noisemakers. The kids and parents toast in the noon year with ginger ale and snacks.”

South Lorain Branch Manager Ally Morgan said her branch will also have party hats and necklaces for everyone to dress up, along with a dance party complete with bubbles and balloons.

The North Ridgeville Branch will have a traditional Noon Year’s Eve celebration on Dec. 31 along with the Main, Avon, Domonkas and South Lorain branches beginning at 11:30 a.m. but it will also have a sensory-friendly event Dec. 30. The event will begin at 11 a.m. and is for children and their families who want to celebrate 2020 in a quieter, less-crowded environment and sensory-friendly environment.
