End of the Year Giving

Released On: 12/5/2019

We all know the feverish scramble around the holiday season – wrapping presents, visiting family and making charitable donations.

Charitable donations at the end of the year allow folks not only a tax incentive but also to get into the spirit of giving with causes and organizations that are important to them. We hope we have been important to you this year,  perhaps by providing that new book you wanted to read or an event where you made new friends or picked up a new skill.

There are several ways to give to your public library, your LPLS:

You can make your voice heard – follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at @LorainPLSystem to show us, and all your friends, how you supported LPLS this year!

You can volunteer – join one of our five distinct and local Friends of the Library groups in Lorain, Avon, Columbia, North Ridgeville or Sheffield Lake to make a difference with your time.

You can make a monetary donation through either a one-time donation or planned giving. A gift to the library puts more books in hands, allows us to provide more programs and services and helps us reach underserved parts of the community.

Planned gifts ensure the library’s future financial security, helping us continue to expand and evolve and provide free access to library services for generations to come. Anyone can leave a legacy gift of any size and we’d welcome the opportunity to work with you to create a structure that suits your passions and works within your overall estate plans. Charitable bequests provide significant tax advantages and can be made by designating through wills, estate plans, life insurance policies and retirement accounts.
