Ways to Support Us
Please Get Involved with Your Lorain Public Library System!
Libraries continue to be viable, thriving community resources for one reason: the people they serve. We welcome all patrons of the Lorain Public Library System to not only take advantage of all that we have to offer, but to support the library system in one or more of the following ways:
1. Join the Friends Group of Your Community Library.
The purpose of Friends of the Library groups is to support our libraries through volunteering or fundraising activities. Through fundraising activities, the Friends finance library programs, help purchase equipment for the library, and provide monies for projects that cannot be funded through the library's budget. Friends provide help as requested by the librarian who serves as a liaison to the group. They help with programs and are advocates for the library in their community. Membership forms are available at all of the Lorain Public Library System libraries.
2. Donate Funds for a Gift Book, CD, DVD or other Library Materials.
A gift to the library is a thoughtful and lasting way to celebrate and acknowledge special people in your life. Monetary donations may be made to purchase a library book, CD, DVD or other library materials as a remembrance and celebration of a special person’s life. All gifts are tax deductible. To make a gift donation, click the donate today button at the top of our website or contact your local Lorain Public Library System library.
3. Contribute to The Foundation.
The Foundation of the Lorain Public Library System, Inc. allows your charitable gift of today and bequests for tomorrow to ensure the long-term future of the community's cornerstone - the public library. All gifts are tax deductible. To donate, click the donate today button at the top of our website. You may also write a check payable to The Foundation of the Lorain Public Library System, Inc. and mail it to PO Box 39194, North Ridgeville, OH 44039.
4. Join a Teen Volunteer Group.
Sixth through 12th-graders are invited to join a teen volunteer group. Call your local Lorain Public Library System library for more information or go to the online events calendar and look for relevant programs and events to attend.
5. Become an Ohio Obituary Index Helper.
The Ohio Obituary Index has over 2 million obituaries and death notices from Ohio from the 1810s to the present. Contact the public services coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn how you can volunteer and add local information.
