North Ridgeville Branch Library History

Lorain Public Library first began providing service to North Ridgeville with a Bookmobile in 1939.

From a storefront in the Tran Building on Avon Belden Road, to the Old Town Hall on Center Ridge Road, to a 5,000 square foot former bank building at 6401 Jaycox Road, the North Ridgeville Branch Library has moved, grown and continued to evolve.

Thanks to the community's support of an operating levy in November 1999, the Library and Local Government Support Fund (LLGSF), and the donation of land by the City of North Ridgeville, a 27,500 square foot library building was constructed at the current 35700 Bainbridge Road site.

The Grand opening of the new building on Bainbridge Road was May 4, 2003.
