Lorain Tornado History Program

Meteorologist Jon Loufman will be the guest speaker at this local history program that commemorates the 90th anniversary of the famous Lorain-Sandusky Tornado.  The tornado devastated two communities on June 28, 1924.

After Loufman's speech, the documentary One Saturday Afternoon will be shown.  A slide show that includes dozens of photographs taken by amateur and professional photographers in the days following the storm will also run before and after the program.

Join us for the opportunity to learn more about this important event in Lorain's history as well as a chance to meet and speak with representatives from the Lorain Historical Society.

This free informational program is cosponsored by the Lorain Public Library, the Lorain Historical Society and the Lorain Palace Theatre.  The program will be held at the Palace Theatre at 617 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Preregistration required.
